Pattan, 18 July: The residents of Pattan town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are up in arms against the Roads and Buildings department for its failure to repair the dilapidated stretches of Newly Constructed Road in the area, which have been posing threat to the lives of commuters. While speaking to Locals said that on the assurance of Tehsildar Pattan, inhabitants had voluntarily donated land for the construction of developed road. However till date no attention has been paid for its development. Later on the directions of Sub divisional administration Pattan, Road behind ITI Building Pattan to Mian Mohalla Connecting the Railway and Chak Jamal Village was constructed with the motive to control the Traffic Mess on Srinagar Baramulla National Highway but unfortunately Sub Divisional Administration, Including R&B and BDO Pattan are in deep slumber as the said road is in dilapidated condition.Pedestrians and commuters claim that the bad condition of roads is causing traffic congestion and that they are facing problems when they venture outside as most of the times vehicles get stuck in the mud.Meanwhile, locals have requested District and Sub divisional administration to Start the work on Road on Priority basis and provide relief to the residents. On being contacted by SDM Pattan Syed Faheem said that that they will look into the matter and issue would be solved as soon as possible as RDD has been already intimated about the issue.
