Anantnag,13-Apr: A casual labour of Power Development Department died of electrocution while repairing a transmission line in Mattan area of south Kashmir’s district on WednesdayA official told that 28-year-old Shabir Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Iqbal Khan of Check Ishardas Mattan received electric shock while repairing a transmission line in Wantrag Kehribal today morning.He said that he was immediately taken to Public Health Centre (PHC) Mattan where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.“Investigations are underway to see if there was any negligence on part of the power department”,official added.Meanwhile, locals of the area expressed anger regarding the incident and said that before sending the casual labour for repairing the transmission line, the concerned officials should have tested checked the line first.(CNS)
