Traffic on Jammu-Srinagar national highway suspended

Srinagar,CNS,17-June;Vehicular traffic was suspended on the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Friday after rockslide in the Banihal sector of Ramban district.Traffic department officials said that the traffic movement on the national highway was suspended after a massive landslide and heavy boulders struck the road near Rehampadi area of Banihal sector.”Road clearance operation is going on and the highway would be restored for traffic as soon as possible.”At present, traffic has been suspended from both Srinagar and Jammu side of the highway”, officials said.On being contacted, DSP traffic NHW Banihal Asgar Malik said that restoration work has been started by highway construction company and it will take 3 to 4 hours to clear the debris from the highway.(CNS)
