Srinagar, 06-Apr: Two militants were killed in an encounter in Arigam village of Tral area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Wednesday.“AGuH (militant) Safat Muzzaffar Sofi alias Muavia and LeT’s Umer Teli alias Talha killed in Tral,” Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said in a tweet.“Before shifting to Tral area both were involved in several (militants) crimes in Srinagar city including recent killing of Sarpanch (Sameer Ahmad) in Khanmoh Srinagar,”IGP added.Earlier a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Arigam on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a encounter.(CNS)
