Ganderbal,24-Feb; Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and taking stringent action against the drug peddlers, Ganderbal Police has launched massive hunt against Narcotic peddling in the District.Under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS, Police Party of Police Post Shadipora led by DO Shadipora laid a strong naka at Waskoora under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Abdul Majid-JKPS. During checking, police party intercepted a white colour Xylo Vehicle bearing regd. No. JK 15 0610 coming from Sumbal side towards Baroosa Ganderbal in which two persons on board were found carrying contraband substance in a polythene bag.During the search,contraband Substance 15 No.s sealed Bottles of Codeine Phosphate & Spasmo Proxyvon plus 8×16 tablet strips i.e, 128 capsules were recovered from their possession. Both the persons were arrested and contraband substance was also seized on the spot.On preliminary questioning, the arrested drug peddlers were identified as Bilal Ah Parry resident of Wangipora Sumbal Bandipora and Javid Ah Ganie resident of Lar Ganderbal.Meanwhile, FIR No 41/2022 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.Police have requested Community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.(CNS)
