Two militants killed in Kulgam encounter: police

Kulgam,10-Jan; Police on Monday claimed to have killed two militants in a gunfight in Hasanpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.”KulgamEncounterUpdate: 02 unidentified terrorists killed. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.The official identified the slain as Abdul Rashid Thokar (20) son of Mohammed Ashraf Thokar, a resident of Hasanpora Tabela, who had went missing on 05 december 2021.The second slain Imad Muzffar Wani (21), who was a resident of Arigam had went missing on 20 December 2021.One residential house belonging to late Gull Mohammed has been razed to the ground during the encounter.Earlier on Sunday, The encounter started in the late hours after a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(CNS)
