    Kulgam, 23-Dec: “Maaw”a tributary which descends from river veshew, is main source of irrigation for a larger portion of area of District kulgam Maaw is a major source of drinking water for almost quarter of population of district. The villages of kahrote zazripora Poniwah Bugam sopar, Nanibugh Danow Sonigam.Bachroo Bogund kanipora, Awgam Srundoo are completely dependent upon Water of Maaw for their drinking purpose However, the people are worried as the rivulet has dried up and people complain that they are badly suffering. With loss of water, people lose drinking water facility so does their domestic animals.People are complaining about irrigation department that they are sleeping over the matter and are not taking any action in the matter. People are concerned and are complaining that incase fire break out anywhere people have no water to extinguish the same and it can sometimes prove to be extremely detrimental as well . People have urged the administration to address the issue as soon as possible so that people don’t face problem any further.(CNS
