The teaching practice group of GCOE under the supervision of Prof. Shalini Rana organised a parent teacher meet and conducted counselling sessions for students and their parents at Government Girls High School, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The results of students were displayed and toppers were given prizes. The pupil teachers motivated the parents to provide their wards with the right environment for study and encouraged them to give importance to their child’s education. An active participation from parents and staff was observed. Most of the parents were first generation learners, and were counseled in their local languages. The main agenda of the event was to create awareness among parents regarding importance of education, to promote inclusive education and girl child education. The efforts of pupil teachers and group supervisor were appreciating by the staff and school principal. The event was conducted under full cooperation from the staff and principal of the school Mr.Koushal Kumar Bakshi.
