NEW DELHI: The All India Radio (AIR) has resumed the broadcast of National Dogri News Bulletins in morning as well as in the evening on the intervention of Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh, which was stopped by it for last some time.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who took strong exception on stopping the morning and evening Dogri news Bulletins by the AIR after the matter was brought to his notice by some Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and BJP activists from Jammu later in the evening yesterday late in the took up the issue with Director General AIR, Ms Ira Joshi early this morning.
The Minister informed her that he has come to know that the AIR has stopped the Dogri News Bulletins of morning and evening which should be resumed immediately.
The Union Minister made it clear to AIR DG that under the Narendra Modi Government there can be no compromise on Dogri.
Soon after the intervention of the Union Minister, the AIR started the national evening news Bulletin of Dogri at 7-15 pm -7-30 pm today while the morning bulletin will be resumed on 10-05 am to 10-15 am tomorrow and it will continue without break in future also.
The Union Minister later appreciated the prompt action of the DG AIR.
According to the sources for the last three to four months, the AIR had stopped the Dogri news bulletins both in the morning and evening by increasing the time slot for English and Hindi news bulletins for the listeners of English and Hindi whose number is comparatively much higher all over the country to give wider coverage to the extra ordinary events taking place due to COVID pandemic and India -China standoff in Ladakh.
However, stopping the Dogri news bulletins by AIR was viewed seriously by some BJP and BJYM activists across Jammu region, who brought the issue to the notice of Dr Jitendra Singh prompting him to take up the matter with authorities of AIR.
