Amarnath Yatra: LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Arrangements at Yatra Base Camp, Baltal

Srinagar 14 June (CNS): Ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2023, Lieutenant Governor, J&K, Manoj Sinha on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for Amarnath pilgrimage and took stock of all the arrangements made at Yatra Base Camp in Baltal, Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.  As per news agency CNS, Office of LG J&K in a series of tweets said that he chaired a meeting to review the status of preparedness of Amarnath annual pilgrimage through Baltal route. “Reviewed arrangements at Yatra Base Camp in Baltal. DRDO’s hospital at Baltal to be made functional by 17th June, BRO to finish all works before commencement of Yatra,” the tweet said.“Discussed arrangements put in place for healthcare, electricity, communication, water supply and sanitation, weather forecasting, disaster management, security grid and all other basic necessities for the pilgrims,” it added.Regarding the medical facilities for the pilgrims, another tweet from LG reads, “Directed officials to ensure Yatra Base Camp has an adequate number of doctors, staff, equipment, medicines and oxygen cylinders. Since Yatra is in difficult terrain at an altitude where the oxygen levels are low, healthcare facilities, care around the clock must be ensured.”While concluding the series of tweets, LG Sinha added, ”Overall arrangements for Yatra have been upgraded. Communication services on Yatra route, night air services to be ensured. Tent accommodation to be fitted with fire extinguishing equipment & all possible steps to be taken for pilgrimage to be convenient, safe & hassle-free.”Pertaining to the annual Amarnath pilgrimage, LG also visited the Nunwan base camp in south Kashmir Pahalgam on Tuesday to review arrangements there as well
