Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, had his bulletproof glass shield removed from the podium before addressing the gathering at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on Monday.After the shield was removed, Amit Shah said he wanted to speak directly to the people of J&K. Amit Shah is on his maiden visit to J&K since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.”I was taunted, condemned…Today I want to speak to you frankly, which is why there is no bulletproof shield or security here….Farooq sahab has suggested me to speak with Pakistan but I will speak to the youth and & people of the Valley.Earlier in the day, Amit Shah offered prayers at the Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Dressed in a traditional Kashmiri pheran, Amit Shah offered prayers at the temple of Mata Ragnya Devi. He was accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
