Ankita wins national debate contest organised by NHRC

Ankita Sharma, 2nd year student of B.B.A LL.B at the Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, hailing from J&K secured first position in the nationwide debate conducted by the NHRC on the burning issue of present day scenario, ‘Media Trial vitiates Human Rights of the Individual.’ All the National Law Universities across the country participated in this debate at the Manav-Adhikaar Bhawan, INA, New Delhi.

Ankita Sharma, 2nd year student of B.B.A LL.B at the Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, hailing from J&K secured first position in the nationwide debate conducted by the NHRC on the burning issue of present day scenario, ‘Media Trial vitiates Human Rights of the Individual.’

All the National Law Universities across the country participated in this debate which was held on 27th Nov’ 2020 at the Manav-Adhikaar Bhawan, INA, New Delhi. Amongst others, the Jury was headed by former Judge Supreme Court of India, Justice P. C Pant, also member NHRC. Dr. Viney Kapoor Mehra, Vice Chancellor Dr. B.R Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, Haryana and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, Indian Institute of Law, New Delhi were also the members of the Jury.

In recent past also, Ankita Sharma reportedly brought laurels to Jammu & Kashmir by having declared as the Popular Speaker of India 2020.
