CIC operators of RDD appeal J&K Admin for regularization of their services Seeks early conduct of meeting by Sub-Committee

Srinagar,14-Apr; The Community Information Centre (CIC) operators working in Rural Development Department (RDD) of J&K UT have appealed to the J&K Lieutenant Governor administration to get their demands fulfilled including regularization of services and salary hike.In a statement issued to CIC spokesperson said that a Sub–Committee was constituted vide Government Order No.99-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 28.01.2022 for resolving the issues of CIC Operators working in Rural Development Department. Further, General Administration Department (GAD) Vide No. GAD-MTG/2021-02-GAD dated 07.03.2022 scheduled a meeting of the said Sub-Committee on 11th March 2022 under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Shri Atal Duloo) and the said meeting has been postponed , but unfortunately after passing of more than one month the new date has not been fixed by the GAD till date. “The callousness and negligent approach on part of J&K , UT Administration has subject these CIC Operators of RDD to severe hardships and harassment for last 18 years , neither regularization nor any salary hike in favour of these CIC Operators has been ordered since decades, which is sheer injustice with the genuine and legimate demands of CIC Operators”,He said.He further added that in the year 2021 , GAD advised to Rural Development Department to submit the requisite information of CIC Operators , so that their cases will be placed before the Establishment Cum Selection committee of GAD for final call with regard to their regularization. The said information has been submitted by the Rural Development Department to GAD in the month of October 2021 but till date no decision has been taken by the GAD. CIC Operators narrated that they are not backdoor appointees and have been recruited through proper recruitment procedure in the year 2004 by District Level Recruitment Committee headed by concerned Deputy Commissioners and are getting a meagre amount of Rs 10,000/= as monthly salary, due to which they are facing lot of hardships to feed their families and to provide better education to their children.CIC Operators also added that they are all highly qualified having M.Tech, MCA, MSc. IT, B.E & B.Tech Degrees and are technically very sound and are handling efficiently more that 26 web portals of various schemes of Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj.
