Srinagar,01-Apr; Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Baramulla arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession. In a statement issued, police spokesperson said that under the supervision of Javid Ahmad-JKPS, SDPO Tangmarg assisted by Inspr Nisar Ahmad, SHO PS Kunzer arrested Drug Peddler identified as Firdous Ahmad Mir resident of Gonipora Kunzer. The accused was coming from Gonipora towards Srinagar-Gulmarg road and upon seeing the Patrolling party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.During personal search 48 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered from him and was taken into custody immediately.Accordingly, Case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Kunzer and investigations set in motion.Meanwhile, General People of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.
