Group of Udhampur Cyclists set out to achieve Guinness book of world record

UDHAMPUR: A Cycle expedition carrying the National Flag of India was today taken out here from DC Office Complex to create a Guinness book of world record. Seven cyclists of the Udhampur District participated in the cycle rally. District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla flagged off the cycle rally which passed through Chopra shop, Garhi, Rehmble, Mand, Tikri, Jhajarkotli, Katra Domail, Jammu and Suchet Garh to spread the message of ‘a sound mind resides in the sound body’. The DDC urged the youth of the district to channelize their energy towards constructive activities. He said that the Government is working to provide better sports infrastructure to youth of the District to show their talent in different sports events. Dr Singla advised the youths of the district to adopt sports activities and stay away from drugs. He said that the cycle rally will be organized in different parts of the country to achieve Guinness book of world record and will cover a distance of 100 km. Among others present were Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri, DIO NIC, Anil Sharma besides other officers of various departments.
