Indian Army organizes free medical camp in Rajouri

RAJOURI: A wellness cum medical checkup camp was organised for the Gujjar and Bakarwal community at Baratgala (Rajouri). The purpose of the event was to acknowledge the role of community in maintaining the ecological balance around the rugged Pir Panjal ranges and bringing peace in the region. The community has worked hand in hand with Army in maintenance of Peace and Tranquility in the region. The gathering was informed about the challenges posed by COVID 19 pandemic and also the menace of drug addiction in the society. They were cautioned to take adequate precautions against both as they have serious health and financial ramifications. The attendees were also made aware regarding precautions to be taken against COVID-19 pandemic. Essential medicines and kits of COVID-19 including masks and sanitizers were distributed during the camp. Members of Gujjar and Bakkarwal community were also encouraged to send their children for undergoing formal Education while they establish their Deras during winters. The event was attended by 21 Bakarwal of Deras located in the area and the community members.
