Press Release;KATHUA, 24JUN : Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* today recovered approx. 5.35 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Atal Setu Naka area of P/S Basohli, 01 drug peddler was arrested alongwith vehicle(scooty) as well as narcotics substance got seized on spot.On 24-06-2025 a Police team of PS Basohli led by PSI Abhinav Kotwal under the supervision of *SDPO Basohli Sh. Suresh Kumar and SHO PS Basohli Prob. DySP Miss. Geetanjli Gupta* during naka checking noticed one suspect enrouted on Scooty bearing Reg. No. Jk08J-8217 who was directed to stop for checking. On physical checking approx. 5.35 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics recovered from the possession of Shouket Ali S/o Hassan Din R/o Plakh Basohli District Kathua.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 5.35 grams Heroine like substance along with vehicle involved was seized and one drug peddler was arrested.On this a case vide FIR No. 57/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Basohli while further investigation is underway.District Police consistent efforts against drug peddlers try to reassure the community members that we are making untiring efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.#warondrugs.
