CUS students demand online exams

Srinagar, 14-Jan;Students of Cluster University srinagar (CUS) on Friday demanded their exams should either be conducted through online mode or postponed amid spike in Covid casesIn a statement issued to an association of students said it was important to ensure safety of the students. “We understand that it is very crucial to ensure academic credibility, career opportunities and future progress of students. But the academic interest of few students or the future progress of students as claimed by Cluster University can’t outweigh the right to health and life of a larger section of students,” the statement said.The students have opposed the varsity decision to hold the exams in offline mode, saying it was “sheer violation of fundamental right of equality of those students, who are unable to appear in these examinations, due to COVID crisis.Furthermore, they added that students are ready for offline exams only when the situation gets better.The statement said the University has issued a date-sheet for Integrated V semester and according to which exams are scheduled to start from 17 January.The statement further said that the controller examinations Dr Khurshid has already denied the demand of students. According to statement, Dr. Khurshid has said that We cannot postpone exams as there are no fresh guidelines issued by government but will make sure that only 25 students are in the class by strictly following the protocol.
