DIG Udhampur reviews theft, NDPS cases

SEP 11, 2020 UDHAMPUR: Sujit Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range convened a meeting with the supervisory officers of Udhampur & Reasi districts to review the progress of long pending theft cases as well as action against the drug peddlers and their associates. The meeting was attended by Sargun Shukla, SSP Udhampur, Rashmi Wazir, SSP Reasi, Rajinder Kumar Katoch, Additional SP Udhampur, Surjeet Kumar, Additional SP Reasi, Amit Bhasin, Additional SP Katra and Imtiaz Ahmed, Staff Officer RPHQ Udhampur. A threadbare discussion has been held regarding prevention and disposal of long pending theft cases in the Range, a Range level mapping of theft routes and detailed analysis of the theft cases of last three years i.e. 2018, 2019 and 2020 (up to June 2018) for which a presentation was prepared by the team of RPHQ Udhampur. A detailed briefing was given by the Nodal officers of Drug Cell (Additional SP Udhampur/ Reasi) of both the districts regarding action taken against the drug peddlers and their associates. It was briefed by the district SSPs about their actions agai-nst narcotic peddlers, theft incidents and also about recovery and seizure of stolen property and narcotic. The DIG directed both the district SSPs to concentrate on theft cases saying, a strategy needs to be framed out, night patrolling be enhanced and beat system be also improved. With regard to the NDPS cases, with special reference to find out, source, carrier and destination, it must be ensured that no accused should be spared, he added
