DPO conducts weeklong tour of 7 ICDS projects of Udhampur; Reviews progress

UDHAMPUR, JULY 09: To take review of various ongoing schemes being implemented in ICDS Sector in Udhampur district, District Programme Officer ICDS, Attar Chand, today concluded his week long extensive tour of all 7 ICDS Projects of the district.

While reviewing all the schemes being implemented in ICDS sector including ICDS, Poshan Abhiyaan and scheme for Adolescent Girls, BBBP and PMMVY, DPO stressed upon the staff including Supervisors, AWWs/AWHs to follow social distancing and use hygienic practices to avoid spread of COVID – 19 while distribution of nutrition items and performing related activities.

He directed the CDPOs to ensure regular visits to the AWCs for effective implementation of ICDS schemes so that no beneficiary is left out from the ambit of these schemes. He appreciated the unique initiative of ICDS Workers/Supervisors/Helpers for distribution of rice in District Udhampur in view of COVID–19 crisis.

DPO asked the CDPO to ensure timely distribution of rice besides directing him to prepare an action plan for Poshan Abhiyaan for the year 2020-21.

During the tour, DPO also briefed about the Mahila Shakti Kendra, District Level Centre for Women, One Stop Centre for Women and Integrated Child Protection Scheme. He asked given to maintain the complaint register at AWC level for women/children in conflict with the family members and related issues. He stressed upon the AWWs to conduct door to door visits to create awareness among the masses regarding Women Empowerment and income generating schemes.

Meanwhile, DPO inspected various AWCs in Pancheri, Chenani, Ghordi, Majalta, Dudu Basantgarh, Ramangar and Udhampur and issued directions to AWWs to maintain record of all activities of their respective centers particularly survey register, distribution of nutrition items besides ensuring punctuality.
