JAMMU: In an urgent meeting of J&K Automobile Dealers Association where the office bearer unanimously decided the situation arising out of the Order ‘Registration of new vehicles at the authorized dealers end” and hurdles being created by the RTO officials in issuing Approvals of RCs. As per the new policy, the uploading of documents for registration of vehicles has started at the dealer’s end and the certificates needs to be digitally signed by RTO before giving to the customers which are not being done ever since the new system changed from 4th August. As per SOP the customer is supposed to get digitally signed Registration Certificate within 72 hours Some Junior Assistant & few officers at RTO office don’t want implementation of these new reforms and are now pressurizing the dealers through brokers for huge payouts to clear the withheld registration certificates of customers which is illegal. The general public is suffering badly even after Government’s taking such a positive and proactive measures of digitalization.
