Panthachowk Encounter: Two More Militants Killed, Toll 3: injured ASI Succumbs, Search Ops On

Srinagar: Two more militants were killed taking the total number of militants killed in the Panthachowk, Srinagar encounter, to three while as ASI of J&K police also succumbed, officials said Sunday morning.

A senior Police officer told news agency that two more militants were killed in the encounter, taking the number of slain militants to three. “Their identity is being ascertained,” he said.

He said that the ASI Babu Ram who was earlier critically injured succumbed to his injuries at 92 Base hospital of army in Srinagar.

Yesterday evening, three bike-borne militants had attacked a joint team of police and CRPF near Panthachowk in which no injury or casuality took place. Soon after the incident, a cordon and search operation started in the area that led to the encounter.
