Police Public interaction meeting cum awareness programme held in Srinagar

August 17: As a part of public outreach programme, Police public interaction meeting cum awareness programme on Coronavirus was held in Police Station Harwan. The interaction meeting cum awareness programme was held after following social distancing norms and other protocols.

The meeting was chaired by SHO PS Harwan and attended by the traders, Imams and Intizamia Committee members of the area.

The main aim of the meeting was to seek cooperation from the general public in adherence of the guidelines as well as health advisories issued by the District administration from time to time in view of Covid-19 pandemic. The chairing officer advised the shopkeepers and businessman to take necessary precautions and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the authorities while dealing with customers. The participants were also requested to make use of masks mandatory and practice social distancing as a norm.

While speaking to the participants, SHO Harwan appreciated the role of trader’s body for their great efforts to deal with COVID-19 pandemic during lockdown. On the occasion, the participants were made aware about the necessary precautionary measures to protect themselves and their families from Coronavirus.

The participants raised various issues during the meeting. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.

The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and appreciated the efforts of police for facilitating such meetings where participants express their views freely.
