Srinagar : 08th July 2020:
Srinagar Police in continuing its drive against social evils, Police Party of Police Station Nowgam under SHO PS Nowgam, got a lead and following the information, raided a place near British School and apprehended 02 gamblers and others fled away from the spot.
From the spot stake money of Rs 28700/= and playing cards were recovered. After questioning, the arrested two disclosed their names as :
1. Mushtaq Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohd Dar
R/o Pahroo Nowgam Srinagar
2. Zaffer Ahmad Dar
S/o Gh Mohd Dar
R/o Meathan Chanapora Srinagar
In this regard case FIR No. 108/20 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Nowgam and investigation taken up.
This is in continuation of the efforts of Srinagar Police to curb the social evils. General Public has applauded the timely Police action.
