Srinagar , July 16: Amid sparking anger among the common people regarding the ban on slaughter of bovine animals ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, J&K administration has issued the clarification regarding the letter and added the letter was Misinterpreted and said No Ban on Slaughter of Animals, “

While clarifying its stand, JK administration said that a letter seeking proper transportation of animals has been misunderstood and rejected any sort of ban on slaughter of animals on the Eid-ul-Adha. “It is not an order, it is a letter. The letter was sent to enforcement agencies to enforce the laws of Animal Welfare Board and it is at the time there is mass slaughter of animals to prevent cruelty on animals. This is not a ban on slaughter and sacrifice,” Sharma said.Sharma, however, said the letter was a routine affair and was meant to ensure safe transportation of animals for the purpose of slaughter.
