NIA team reaches tunnel site, Japan made batteries recovered

Jammu: The NIA team with sleuths of Special Operation Group today reached at the site where 150 meter tunnel was detected by BSF.The tunnel was constructed along the International Border (IB) to facilitate infiltration of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan along International Border, Bobiyan in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.Official sources said that NIA’s team led by Superintendent of Police Rakesh Balwan and SOG team led by Superintendent of Police namely Naresh Kumar reached at the site and took access of it.They said that earlier, CRPF 121 battalion and SOG sleuths, Hiranagar launched a search operation in forest area of Hiranagar and Border of Outer Post, Gurnam.They said that BSF personnel also recovered 3 circles AAA battery cell (made in Japan) and one Miranda bottle from the depth of the tunnel besides sand bags with Pakistani markings.Pertinently a nearly 150-m-long tunnel was detected by a BSF patrol party during an anti-tunnelling operation in Bobiyaan village of Hirnagar sector this morning on Wednesday.The opposite of this side is Pakistan’s Shakergarh which is notorious for having launch pads and bases of terrorists.
