Painter jumped from Tawi bridge, condition critical

Jammu: A young man jumped from the Tawi bridge in Gujjar Nagar area under suspicious circumstances. In time, the police personnel saved and got him admitted to GMC Hospital for treatment. The condition of the youth remains critical. The injured youth Archit Sotra is a resident of Christian Colony, Prem Nagar and is a painter by profession. After registering the case with Pir Mittha Police Station, the police started further action. The condition of injured Archit Sotra is not tenable.

On Wednesday afternoon, people fishing under the Gujjar Nagar Bridge on the Tawi River saw a person falling into the water. The youth started making noise to save the young man who fell in the water. On hearing his voice, the people passing through the bridge informed the police personnel stationed at the block there about the incident. SHO Pir Mittha Inayat Ali and SHO Kirti Sharma also reached the spot. Police personnel along with the passers-by took out the young man and got him admitted to the hospital for treatment. The young man was lucky to have fallen in the part of Tawi where there was water. Police investigation revealed that Archit was out of the house on Wednesday morning to go to work. The circumstances under which he reached the Tawi Bridge is a matter of investigation. Outpost incharge Gujjar Nagar Parvez Ahmed said that Archit’s condition is not fit to give a statement. His statements are important in the case. At present, the police have not found any such eyewitnesses, Who did not see Archit jumping from the bridge. Outpost in-charge said that Archit is married and has an addiction to drinking.
