The programmes were held under the directions of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh (KAS) and under the supervision of Nodal officer of MSK Shamun Ahmed, CPO Rajouri and Nodal Officer BBBP, Bilal Rashid Mir, DSEO Rajouri, District level Centre for Women (MSK). Dr. Anum Mirza (Women Welfare Officer, Rajouri) while talking to Jammu Links News said that “The women empowerment means when the society will also accept women as decision-makers for the economic and financial decisions of the family. We shall encourage women from all the sections of society to make their own decisions. They need not take permission from men”. She further said that such awareness programmes are being organised throughout the district alongwith the distribution of stationary kits for poor girl students in order to encourage and motivate them to continue their studies even during the period when all the educational instituations are closed due to Covid-19. District coordinators of MSK Nazma Sheikh and Sanjana Thakur awared the gathering regarding declining child sex ratio, BBBP, Sukanaya Samridhi Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojna, Ujwala scheme, one stop centre, women safety laws, women and child helpline number, women welfare schemes, PC and PNDT act and various scholarships. Jagmohan Kaur (Sarpanch Sangpur-west) and Anju Sharma (Sarpanch Muradpur) were also present during the programme. During the program the team of DLCW Rajouri put emphasis on the importance of education among girl students. They also urged girl parents to allow their girls to get a proper education, as education is the best way to empower girl, an important pillar of our nation. They also raised the issue of gender inequality and said that the men and women are the two sides of the same coin. Along with awareness, DLCW, Rajouri also distributed stationary kits among needy girl students under BBBP. The stationary kits included stationary items like pencil box, notebooks, books, sharpeners, erasers, instrument box etc.
