Re-poll in two DDC constituencies held in North Kashmir

Srinagar,05-Dec; Amid chilling cold and tight security arrangements voting was held on Monday for the by-elections of Hajin Bandipora and Drugmullah Kupwara for District Development Council seats, during which the political fate of 14 candidates was decided as the polling process come to an end without any untoward incident. The counting of votes will be done on December 8. 53.27 percent polling was recorded in DDC constituency Hajin (A) till two o’clock. As per reports to CNS, voting in two DDC seats of Hajin (A) and Drugmullah Kupwara started at seven o’clock in the morning and ended at two o’clock. Despite the severe cold, people came out of their homes and started heading towards the polling booths. According to the correspondent, dozens of security forces were deployed around each polling station while senior police officers were monitoring the situation.
