Srinagar 19 Aug; Scores of residents from Habba kadal area of old city have complained the absence of local traffic in the area creating inconvenience to daily commuters.A delegation of such commuters told CNS that the route lacks the bus service creating huge inconvenience for locals.There are students, patients and the general public who have to travel throughout the day. Such people are left at the mercy of expensive cabs. Everyone is not rich enough to own a vehicle and cannot afford to pay exorbitant fare of cabs,” said Shakeel Ahmed , a local residentSpeaking to CNS Mohammad Maqbool President Mohalla committee said, “These Habba Kadal bridges that connect civil lines areas to the Downtown areas of the Srinagar were meant for local traffic but the same have either been occupied by the vendors or converted into parking area creating more chaos in the area’’.”Habba kadal is a known hub for business activities but now our business has been affected due to the continuous absence of bus service. We have already approached the concerned officials regarding this issue, but nothing has been done so far,” said Aijaz Ahmad, vice president Bazar committee.The locals have again appealed concerned officials to take immediate action to resolve their long pending issue.(CNS)
