28-Dec; Four unidentified militants were killed in an encounter at Sidra area of Jammu district on Wednesday.Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh said that the encounter took place around 7.30 am amid intense fog near Tawi Bridge in the Sidra bypass area along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.“The security forces noticed an unusual movement of a truck & followed it. Truck was stopped at Sidhra where the driver managed to flee. When the truck was searched militants hiding inside fired on the personnel, which was retaliated to, during which 4 militants were neutralised” he said.The police also recovered seven AK-47 rifles and three pistols along with other ammunition from the truck.”Four terrorists have been killed in an encounter in Sidhra area in Jammu. 7 AK-47 rifles, 3 pistols along with other ammunition were recovered. Truck owner is yet to be identified; the truck was going from Jammu to Srinagar. Search still on,” ADGP Singh said.
