JAMMU: Expressing concern on the emerging situation in Jammu and Kashmir wherein forces inimical to the peace of the region have got hyperactive, Neeraj Anand, president Chamber of Traders Federation, demanded that such forces be dealt with iron hands.Addressing a traders meeting here, Anand said recent incidents of drone attacks and forceful conversion of girls belonging to the minority Sikh community in Kashmir have potential to disturb the peace of the erstwhile State. If need is felt , anti- conversion law should be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir also, he stressed while emphasizing that peace is the pre-requisite for trade and commerce and no one should be allowed to disturb the same.Anand expressed trust that the present dispensation under LG, Manoj Sinha would give a befitting reply to all such forces.Talking about trade activities, he appreciated the move of the GoI to include shopkeepers and traders under MSME sector.”It fulfills a long pending demand often raised by our parent body, Confederation of All India Traders, (CAIT), at various forums,” he added.This small move will allow traders to play a further bigger role in achieving the 5 trillion dollar economy target set by the PM, Narendra Modi.Anand further said, “We are happy that finally traders will get their due. Now, cheaper working capital, skill upgradtion, access to various schemes would be available to Traders also. This would also help increase interaction between Govt deptts and traders thus creating a new synergy and activating growth.He also expressed gratitude to the Central leadership of CAIT under BC Bhartia, president and Praveen Khandelwal, secy general for achieving this milestone.Anand further demanded appropriate relief package for business community which suffered huge losses on many counts owing to Covid and earlier transformation stage post abrogation of Article 370.Those present on the occasion included- Raman Gupta, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Tushaar Mahajan, Ajay Gupta, Devinder Gupta, Parveen Gupta, Suriender Kumar and Parag Abrol.
