Weekend curfew lifted in 16 districts; night curfew to remain in place

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday announced that the weekend curfew will be lifted from as many as 16 districts in the Union Territory with immediate effect. However, the daily night curfew from 8 pm to 7 am will remain in place, it added.The new relaxations have been granted to the following 16 districts – Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur, Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian.Here are new guidelines for above-mentioned 16 districts:There shall be no weekend curfew in these districts. However, the daily night curfew will continue to exist from 8 pm to 7 am.Restaurants and bars can open for in-dining from 7 am till 10 pm at 50 per cent of its total capacity, only for vaccinated customers or the ones carrying negative COVID reports.All outdoor shops are permitted to open on all days, only from 7 am till 7 pm.All shops in indoor complexes and malls can open, only from 7 am till 7 pm, only for vaccinate individuals or the ones carrying negative COVID reports.Indoor sports complexes and gyms are also permitted to open at 50 per cent of their total capacity for vaccinated persons.Swimming pools will continue to remain closed.Here are new guidelines for rest of districts:Weekend curfew from 8 pm, Friday till 7 am, Monday and daily night curfew from 8 pm till 7 am shall continue to remain in force.All outdoor shops and bazaars are permitted to open five days a week, except on Saturdays and Sundays.50 per cent of the shops in indoor shopping complexes and malls can open.Restaurants and bars can open for in-dining from 7 am till 10 pm at 50 per cent of its total capacity, for vaccinated customers and the ones carrying negative COVID reports.All schools, colleges, universities and technical/skill development institutions in Jammu and Kashmir shall remain closed for imparting on-campus/in-person education to the students till July 31.There shall be no restrictions on the entry of passengers, returnees, or travellers coming to Jammu and Kashmir whether by road, rail, or air, said the J&K govt.
