Awami Awaz Party held convention in Srinagar

Srinagar,17-Feb; Jammu and Kashmir Awami Awaaz Party(JKAAP) held its first convention at Pratap Park Srinagar on Thursday. The meeting highlighted the issue of ban on hijab, delays in daily wage and the problems faced by passengers and transporters at Batamal bus stand.Speaking to media on the occasion, JKAAP spokesperson Mohammad Arif said that hijab is definitely the dignity of women and our choice. Nobody can force us to decide what we should wear or eat. He added Muslims also respect all religious matters of Sikhs and Christians.Regarding the daily wagers working in various departments of Jammu and Kashmir for a long time, he said that their number is 61,000 and their future has become bleak due to non-permanence of them. He said that we demand LG of Jammu and Kashmir to draw attention to this issue. Regarding the Batamaloo bus stand, he said that the court had allowed 50 vehicles to enter Batamaloo in order to provide relief to traders and transporters, but this was not being done as they are either fined or imprisoned.Muhammad Arif, while drawing the attention of the government to the above three issues, expressed the hope that special attention will be paid to these issues which are of utmost importance.(CNS)
