Polling staff reach polling stations; security beefed up in Banihal

RAMBAN: Security and other arrangements were beefed up in Banihal area of Ramban district for 2nd phase of DDC elections, besides polling parties were dispatched from Government Higher Secondary School Banihal to all 80 polling stations, which were established for 2nd phase of DDC elections and Panchayat by-Polls. As per ADC Ramban, Harbans Lal all arrangements have been made for 2nd phase of polling, which will take place on Tuesday from 7am to 2pm under strict COVID-safety protocols. He informed that an adequate number of police personnel and central paramilitary forces have been sent to all the polling stations for deployment near the polling booths to ensure violence-free elections. It is notable that 80 polling stations were established for two constituencies Banihal-A and Banihal-B, where 28000 voters will decide the fate of 15 candidates including 8 women candidates. Huge deployment of security forces has been deployed for smooth conduct of the 2nd phase of elections.
